What is chiropractic?

Taken directly from the OCA Website

"Chiropractic is an evidence-informed, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal system.

Chiropractors practice primarily using their hands, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.

Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, depending on the specific needs of the individual patient.

One of the most common therapies a chiropractor uses is spinal manipulative therapy (SMT), which can comprise a variety of adjustment techniques. Specific training in SMT allows chiropractors to provide highly-skilled and precise adjustments to the vertebrae of the spine, correcting joint motion to restore proper movement and improve function.

Chiropractic care may also be used to provide symptomatic relief for patients with chronic conditions.

Chiropractic is a regulated health profession, recognized by statute in all Canadian provinces and American states. Almost 2.7 million patients in Ontario rely on chiropractic care every year to help them live healthy, active lives"

What is Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)?

Head over to our Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) page to answer all your questions!

What happens during my first chiropractic appointment?

Your first appointment will begin by filling out our office forms. These forms contain information about why you've come to see us as well as our office policies.

Once your forms are completed, the chiropractor will take a detailed medical history in order to gain a better understand of your ailments and overall health.

Once the history is complete, a hands-on physical examination is performed. The physical exam is focused on your area of complaint and is meant to find the root cause of your ailments. This may mean some discomfort is felt during the exam, but we always put your comfort and safety first.

After completing the evaluation, your chiropractor will discuss their findings and present a treatment plan that is specific to yourself in order to return you to a pain free life. After answering all of your questions and obtaining informed consent, treatment can begin!

Some cases require additional referrals such as x-rays, ultrasound, MRI, etc. before treatment is rendered.

Do I need note / prescription from my family doctor to come see you?

Nope! Chiropractors are primary care providers which means you are able to walk straight into our office for health advice or treatment, no prescription or notes required!

Are my treatments covered by OHIP?
